Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Video Translate AI Chrome extension and companion website (collectively, the "Service") provided by Video Translate AI ("we", "us", "our"). By installing the extension, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Video Translate AI provides on-demand transcription and translation of YouTube video audio into subtitles in a language you choose, delivered as an overlay on the YouTube video page.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use the Service.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of registration information and for keeping your credentials secure.
• You may not share your account or use another person's account without permission.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Credits & Payments

• The Service uses a credit model. Each minute of translated audio consumes credits at the rate displayed in the app at the time of use.
• You can buy credits through our payment partners (Lemon Squeezy for international users, ZPay for Chinese users).
• Credits do not expire while your account is active.
• Prices and credit rates may change; changes apply only to future purchases, never to credits you have already bought.
• All charges are processed by the payment partner. We do not store your card details.

4. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
• Redistribute, resell, or rebrand transcripts/translations generated by the Service without a separate license.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract model weights from the Service.
• Overload our infrastructure, bypass rate limits, or scrape our API.
• Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise prohibited by applicable law.
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free-tier quotas.

6. Content & Intellectual Property

• Your content: You retain all rights to video content you choose to translate. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that audio solely to provide the translation back to you.
• Our content: The extension code, website, logos, and brand are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property law. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.
• Third-party content: YouTube videos are owned by their respective creators and are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. This Service does not give you any additional rights in that content.

7. Disclaimers

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Transcription and translation are AI-generated and may contain errors. Do not rely on the Service for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every video will translate successfully.
• The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, or OpenAI.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Termination

• You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by emailing limit0422@gmail.com.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with or without notice.
• Unused paid credits will be refunded on a pro-rata basis if we terminate for reasons other than your breach of these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the extension or on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding conflict-of-law rules). Disputes will be resolved first by good-faith negotiation; if not resolved within 30 days, by the competent court at the place where we are registered. Users located in jurisdictions granting non-waivable consumer protections retain those protections.
